Dr. Evelyn Lewis | Executive Director

Evelyn Lewis, MD has over 25 years of experience in the United State Navy and earned her medical degree from the University of the Health Sciences at the Chicago Medical School. She completed a two-year faculty development fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center and Pacific Lutheran University with a Masters degree in the Social and Behavioral sciences. Dr. Lewis has been recognized for her expertise in the areas of cultural competency, health, and healthcare disparities. She is passionate about increasing patient’s awareness of disease, treatment and management; increasing physicians’ awareness of the special needs of minority populations; and increasing access to quality healthcare. She has worked with multiple organizations including the following:

  • Congressional Black Caucus (CBC)
  • National Medical Association
  • National Black Caucus of State Legislators
  • NAACP
  • National Urban League
  • American Academy of Family Physicians
  • National Hispanic Medical Association
